Meet Your Financial Advisor

Marie McFarland
CFP, EA

Hi, I am Marie, your financial advisor. I am here to walk with you through ENTIREMENT and to make financial planning simple and fun.

From the moment I stepped into the world of financial advising, I knew I had found my calling. The pieces started fitting together after I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a degree in biology, and the goal of becoming a dentist. But life had other plans.

I started working with a seasoned financial advisor to grow my own savings, and he instilled in me the power of controlling what one can control—monthly savings. Every annual review session ignited my passion for financial planning. It wasn’t long before my mentor took notice and encouraged me to pursue a career as a financial advisor.

With financial planning, I see gray areas amid financial chaos, where others see only black and white. This helps me craft meticulous plans, knowing full well that life’s unexpected curveballs will inevitably come along, and I will have to help my clients change course again.

It’s my genuine connection with people that fuels my passion the most. Every person’s relationship with money is unique, so my approach to financial planning has to be too. I approach financial planning with empathy and insight, enriching the journey for clients.

In 2024, I took a leap of faith and founded Entirement Financial Planning. Though I loved my previous role, I felt compelled to follow my vision for financial planning, one that grows wealth but brings joy along the way.

I obtained the Certified Financial PlannerTM (“CFP”) designation and the IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) license, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table.

Meet My Family

I live in Watertown with my husband, Josh, and our dog, Yogi. Together, we find joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking, baking, and adventures near and far. Our shared passion for real estate with character-filled charm leads us into new home projects, despite our best intentions to take a break after the next one. We often joke that we will be the couple still doing home projects long after we are old and gray!
